From Front-End Tech Developer to Senior Data Analyst: The Growth Story of Prince Azu-Okeke with HSCL
Looking back at his career journey with Health Systems Consult Limited (HSCL), Senior Data Analyst, Prince Azu-Okeke says it has been a story of transformation, adaptability, and exponential growth. Prince joined HSCL in January 2024 as a Data Analyst after years of working as a Front-End Tech Developer. He began to explore data analysis in more details and realized that being an Analyst meant more than merely working with data sets and field reports.
A Whole New World
HSCL operates in the dynamic world of public health consulting. It is a fast-paced, multidisciplinary, and impact-driven organization. Like most new staff, Prince had his initial challenges blending into the system.
“My first weeks felt like stepping into a whirlwind,” he recalls, adding that the multiple projects happening at once, the high-stakes proposals, the many presentations, business plans, and feasibility studies all happening in rapid succession added to his work pressure.
“The shift from tech to public health was a culture shock for me. I moved from a remote, largely independent work environment to engaging with diverse teams, making client presentations, and crafting concept notes, theories of change, and strategic documents. These are things I had never done before.”
Amid all this however, Prince managed to adjust quickly, thanks to his tech skills. His knowledge of tools like PowerPoint, Excel, and Graphic Design Software became him support system, helping the new employee contribute meaningfully while learning the ropes of this new work challenge.
The Transition and the Growth
In just eighteen months Prince has transitioned from an Analyst to Senior Analyst, blending his technical background with public health consulting, all thanks to the organizational support and encouragement.

“The environment here is challenging but deeply rewarding,” said Prince, adding that HSCL pushes her staff to stretch beyond their comfort zones while giving them the support and resources they need to succeed.

Learning and growth are a continuous process, and Senior Analyst, Prince Azu-Okeke embraces every bit of it.
“Some days, I feel confident and in control; other days, I’m reminded that there’s still so much to learn. And that’s the beauty of it,” he mused.
