HSCL ACE3: Leveraging Digital Health and Predictive Innovation for Transformation and Impact

Community health worker in Nigeria using digital health tools

In Kebbi, Sokoto, and Zamfara States, healthcare is becoming smarter and faster, tailored to individual needs. The USAID-funded ACE3 project, powered by Health Systems Consult Limited (HSCL), is revolutionizing digital health by not just collecting information, but changing lives.

Community health workers now access real-time patient data through an automated Power BI dashboard integrated with Lamisplus, Nigeria’s national Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system. Validated aggregate data flows into DHIS2, providing decision-makers with crucial insights to strengthen programs at every level.

By leveraging AI and Machine Learning (ML) models built on EMR data, ACE3 uses predictive analytics to:

  • Identify new HIV cases more effectively.
  • Predict patient retention risks, ensuring fewer are lost to care.
  • Forecast viral load outcomes, enabling early intervention and saving lives.

We are not just reacting; we are anticipating, preventing, and protecting.

However, technology alone is not enough. At ACE3, people remain at the heart of our innovations. Through our Collaboration, Learning, and Adaptation (CLA) approach, we:

  • Work hand-in-hand with stakeholders from Ministries of Health to frontline health workers, ensuring local ownership of every solution.
  • Learn from patient experiences and adapt our strategies in real time.
  • Build sustainability plans rooted in local capacity and leadership, creating systems that will endure long after projects end.

The results are visible every day:

  • A young mother receives lifesaving ART because her risk was predicted and flagged.
  • A clinic improves viral load suppression rates by targeting support where it’s needed.
  • A health system that is not only digital but intelligent, inclusive, and sustainable.

This is not just technology. This is the future of healthcare where innovation meets humanity, and every life matters. Join us on this journey as we continue to transform the health system in Nigeria and beyond, one patient, one prediction, one transformation at a time.
