Closing the gap on Paediatrics Case Finding
Accelerating Paediatrics case finding remains a priority activity on the ACE-3 project. The Sokoto state project team in collaboration with the State’s Agency for Control of AIDS and State’s AIDS and STI control Programme conducted HIV testing for ‘Almajiri’s at Mana-Babba district within Sokoto metropolis. A total of 213 clients (Almajiris) were tested and 2 positive cases were identified and commenced on ART. Furthermore, 50 HIV self-testing kits were given to the care giver of the clients for onward distribution and use by some of the clients who were not available at the time this activity was conducted. Case managers have been assigned to follow up on the results of the HIV self-testing. Every HIV positive case will be linked to care and treatment.
