GBV 16 Days of Activism 2022-Unite! Activism to end violence against women and girls: 25th Nov – 10th Dec 2022
Post Gender-Based Violence services are part of services provided in ACE3 supported facilities in the three states of Kebbi, Sokoto and Zamfara. The ACE3 state teams actively participated in this year 2022, 16 days of activism against Gender Based Violence Themed; Unite! Activism to end violence against women and girls. In view of this, the ACE 3 team focused on creating awareness on GBV among Almajiri girls and boys, Clerics, and coordinators in the state. The target groups were educated on GBV, GBV related issues how to seek help and report abuses
PMTCT, Cervical Cancer and GBV training conducted in Kebbi State
PMTCT, CXCA, and GBV training across 16 Health facilities in Kebbi state was conducted for a total of 55 participants which included Case Managers, ANC Nurses, and State PMTCT focal persons. The activity served as an avenue to strengthen HIV testing in ANC units across the facilities, provide basic steps in screening for cervical cancer for Women living with HIV and to provide first-line support (LIVES) to GBV survivors upon first contact with the health or criminal justice system. The training enhanced the capacity of staff on documentation, timely reporting, referral and linkage of HIV positive pregnant women newly identified to the nearest ART site.
