Exciting news from Health Systems Consult Limited (HSCL) ACE 3! In collaboration with Data.FI Nigeria under the United States Agency for International Development (USAID)’s ACE3 project, HSCL is piloting the Point of Care (POC) module of the LAMISPlus EMR system in two facilities: Sokoto Specialist Hospital and Sir Yahaya Memorial Hospital in Birnin Kebbi.
This innovative effort is designed to enhance patient-level management through the integration of digital health solutions. The goal is to streamline processes, improve data accuracy, and ultimately deliver better healthcare outcomes. This pilot is a critical step towards leveraging technology to improve the efficiency of healthcare service delivery across Nigeria.
In line with USAID’s directives, HSCL ACE 3 had successfully conceptualized and implemented the Point of Care (POC) for LamisPlus. The innovation has been piloted in three high-volume sites in Sokoto and Kebbi states, marking a significant milestone in the HSCL ACE 3 healthcare service delivery.
The official commissioning of the LamisPlus POC in Kebbi State was held at Sir Yahaya Memorial Hospital and in Sokoto State at Sokoto Specialist Hospital. The Federal Medical Centre (FMC) Gusau in Zamfara State is also set to follow shortly. The LamisPlus Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system is now fully operational at these service delivery points, including ART clinics, laboratories, antenatal care (ANC) units, pharmacies, and TB units.
The system runs on Ubuntu OS (Linux) using HP Proliant servers, all connected to the facility inverters, ensuring continuous and reliable service.
With this progress and the current support from Data.Fi, ACE 3 is now positioned to consider expanding this advanced EMR system to additional facilities in the project states. This step will further streamline ACE 3 operations and enhance
