Capacity building in health accountability and responsiveness for healthcare workforce is crucial for enhancing the quality and efficiency of healthcare systems. This process involves equipping healthcare workforce with the knowledge, skills, and tools necessary to effectively monitor, evaluate, and improve healthcare practices and policies. By fostering a culture of transparency and accountability, the healthcare workforce can better address and respond to patients' needs, ensure adherence to ethical standards, and implement evidence-based practices.
Health Systems Consult Limited (HSCL) ACE 3 Project has conducted capacity building for healthcare workers in Zamfara and Kebbi states on health accountability and responsiveness. The training aims to equip the health workforce in both states with the skills to improve transparency, accountability, and responsiveness in healthcare delivery. and to ensure that health workers can effectively engage with patients and communities, fostering trust and improving the quality of care.
Health Systems Consult Limited (HSCL) ACE3 project aided this capacity building program in Zamfara and Kebbi States to support the state healthcare workforce in developing critical thinking, data management, and communication skills, enabling them to contribute to a more responsive and equitable healthcare system.
Present at the training include the 4 Directors - Ministry of Health, SASCP-Coordinator, PM-SACA, Rep/DG-SPHCDB, HOD of Health from 6 LGAs, 6 PHC coordinators, PMO/ART coordinators from 11 supported facilities, and the ACE3 Case management coordinators.
Similarly, the project also organized a Private Sector Engagement symposium on sustainability in both states, which aims to facilitate the involvement of private sector entities in the health sector. The idea is to enhance the sustainability of health initiatives. The overarching objective is to create a more resilient and sustainable health system by encouraging private sector investment in healthcare infrastructure, services, and technologies, while also ensuring seamless alignment with public health goals and accessible to healthcare services for all.
Stakeholders in attendance include the Permanent sec - MOH, ES/PM-SACAs, SC-SASCP, ART Coordinators/PMOs, HODs of Health-LGAs, LGA PH Coordinators/facilities, Case Management Coordinators, HSCL ACE3 staff and the organize private sector in the states.
