Health Systems Consult Limited (HSCL) staff have undergone training on the application of the STATA software in health research. The 5-day intensive training which started on Wednesday August 7 at Top Rank Hotel Galaxy Utako, Abuja, had 25 participants in attendance. The training aims to equip the staff of HSCL with new skills in modern research, data collection, analysis, interpretation and reporting using the STATA software.
The expected outcomes of the training include participants appreciating the capabilities of the STATA software as a game changer the health research landscape, especially with regards to quantitative data analysis.
The participants are expected to attain high level competence in data analysis, generation of quality research findings, producing publication quality graphs, development of quality paper abstracts and manuscripts for publication.
Research is central to the HSCL programs. As such, HSCL staff are expected to leverage the training to hone their research skills.
Also in attendance was the ACE 3 United Agency for International Development (USAID) AoR, Dr. Pamela Gwan Gadoado, who urged the participants to make maximum use of the opportunity to imbibe the knowledge and apply it in their everyday programming activities. The week long STATA training is conducted by the Center for Infectious Diseases Research and Evaluation.
