LSHS (Ilera Eko) performance review
With support from Health Systems Consult Limited, Lagos State Health Management agency held a performance review session of the Lagos State Social Health Insurance scheme on 28th October 2022. The objective of the session was to enable the agency to self-evaluate the performance of the Ilera-Eko scheme against selected indicators of interest, to identify challenges affecting performance, and brainstorm on ways to improve performance. Six indicators were identified with support from HSCL as the top priority indicators against which to measure the scheme’s performance, based on its current implementation stage. The indicators bothered Access to Healthcare services, Equity, and Efficiency in the delivery of healthcare services all aimed at achieving Universal Health Coverage, and the period analyzed was from January to September 2022. The session allowed for robust conversation and recommendations on how the agency can improve its performance. This includes the development and utilization of a monthly data collection tool to enable quarterly performance reviews, with HSCL providing technical support to the M&E unit of LASHMA in achieving this.
