Nigeria represents a huge untapped market for healthcare given it is the largest economy in Africa (by GDP) and the underinvestment in its health sector.
HSCL conducted a pre-feasibility study, market assessment, and modeled scenario investment options for the establishment of a Health Sub-city proposed to be developed as a core component of an Economic City in South-Eastern Nigeria with a view to ascertaining its bankability, The health components involved; i) a Medi City comprised of a Centre of Excellence Hospital and a Health Training Institution, ii) a Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Hub, and iii) Medical Device Manufacturing Park.
Project Goal
The overall goal of the project was to conduct a pre-feasibility study and market assessment for the Health Sub-city of EEC that will improve the capacity to provide quality and affordable healthcare in line with achieving universal health coverage.
