Supporting COVID-19 Response
The COVID 19 Pandemic has created new challenges for delivering health and safe guarding livelihoods, across the world. HSCL as part of its support, is providing support to the Civil Society Coalition for COVID-19 Response and 3 States (Lagos, Kaduna, and Niger) in in the fight against the virus.
Development of Incidence Action/Response Plan
HSCL provided support for the development of the concept note that dovetailed into the development of the incident plan and budget for the Lagos State Covid-19 response. HSCL is also playing active roles in its implementation. HSCL is currently part of the COVID-19 response team at the Lagos State Ministry of Health and Governor's Think-Tank" on response to COVID-19.
Development of Risk Communication and Social Mobilization Plans
HSCL and R4D through the Niger State Contributory Health Agency, are supporting Niger state with the adaptation of content; production of risk communication and social mobilization Information, and Education Communication (IEC) materials.
Membership of the Kaduna State Emergency Operations Centre (EOC)
In Kaduna state, HSCL has been drafted as a member of the state EOC saddled with the responsibility of coordinating the state’s response to the pandemic.
Strengthening the Civil Society Coalition COVID-19 Response Efforts
HSCL has played a lead role in helping the Nigerian Health Sector Reform Coalition (HSRC) shape its COVID-19 efforts. HSCL supported the coalition with the development of the action plan, technical papers, advocacy and accountability materials, as well as a grant proposal. HSCL is now managing the BMGF grant to the CSO coalition for COVID-19, to increase coalition member’s capacity, voice, and effectiveness.
